Helping Our Communities
 Operation Turkey was designed in 2000 to promote community outreach during the Thanksgiving holiday. Every resident of the United States can celebrate Thanksgiving. There are no racial, ethnic or gender restrictions or requirements. Operation Turkey organizes community distributions of food, clothes and toiletries to the homeless and less-fortunate around the country.
Each year, millions of people do not have a meal during Thanksgiving. Nationally, it is difficult to address this issue, but handled locally we can take care of our respective communities to promote outreach and community involvement.
There are two ways to help with Operation Turkey.
1. If you live in Austin or San Antonio you can join us at one of our large locations where we group together volunteers to cook, package and deliver food to the homeless.
2. If you live outside of Austin and San Antonio, please follow the instructions below.
Here is the breakdown of community involvement that participating volunteers are asked to do:

Note: We recommend handing out dinners with blankets and jackets to help keep our communities warm in the coming winter months. These do not have to be new items, but can be donated from friends, coworkers, neighbors and family.

We need your help - from food donations, preparation and delivery - we have a need for volunteers.
